 making a smoothie for baby? my son is 6 1/2 months old & I was wondering if I could just add a little bit of applesauce or some of his pureed fruit to his formula bottle (not everytime, just occasionally or when I have leftovers) I don't see how it could hurt & I think it would make the formula taste better... thoughts/opinions? does anyone else do this? Not a good idea, Eating is a learning experience and putting it in the bottle may confuse him as to what eating really is, he may also stop taking the formula without it because it probably does taist yuck lol. My clinic nurse has said to many people not to do it as it can also cause other stuff like obesity, and may make them fussy. If you were given a vegi after a apple smoothie what would you rather have? Its best just to leave just milk in the bottle and food on the plate, also if he doesn't like taking water from the bottle, try sippy cups, you may need to try a few before he likes one, now that he is having food he mite need a little more water to keep everything moving Hope this helps, good luck!
