smoothie blender back to basics

Help! I can't get the bottom cap off of my smoothie maker? I have a "Back To Basics" brand smoothie maker (a glorified blender). The screw cap on the bottom where you let the blade out is on so tight neither my boyfriend nor I can get it off to clean it. Any ideas/tricks/suggestions? It's plastic and so is the pitcher. I scoff at your assholeness. Sorry I just put hand cream on and my hands are greasy, I can't help you with that right now.

• 2 Tablespoons vinegar
• 11/2 Cup extra virgin olive oil
• A pinch of cayenne pepper

Method:

1. Mix the dry ingredients
2. Place the egg yolks and dry ingredients in a bowl
3. Add the lemon juice and vinegar
4. Start blending the mixture with your hand blender and slowly pour in the oil, drop by drop, until the mayonnaise is the right consistency.
5. You may not always need all the oil or you may sometimes need a little more oil.
6. Spoon the mayonnaise into a clean bottle and refrigerate until you need it. You can of course use it immediately.
